If not now, When! Create YOU 2.0, one day at a time for the next 12 weeks. And keep those promises, those New Year's Resolutions.
Many of us have more in common with Punxsutawney Phil in Ground Hogs Day than we might realize. It is the first week of December. And we are getting ready to live the same dream and do the same thing we do every year. We will make those same New Year's Resolutions that disappear at about the same time every year. That is almost as soon as we make them.
Do you realize the number of forgotten or failed New Year's Resolutions hovers around 88%? So unless you like to play the lottery, why bother? Because it's a tradition. You may ask how this tradition get started, I don't know! But I have heard it has been around for 4000 years.
It is not difficult to see why we are like Punxsutawney Phil (who finally wakes up). To understand why we are stuck in that tradition, in the same story.
After all, a new year is a great time to reflect on our lives and participate in this 4000-year-old tradition. To look at what we have accomplished over the past year. Look at the parts of our lives that may need or that we want to change. Those things that hold us back from our dreams and prevent us from focusing on the significant challenge all of us face:
Why are we stuck in this tradition and our own Ground Hogs Day? What is the allure in waiting for New Year's Ev to make our destined-to-fail promises and commitments?
I have an idea that might change that ending, that tradition. That may make 2023 the year we wake up and create YOU 2.0. And help us be one of the 12% that do!
